Implant Examples
Implant Bar with Overdenture: This type of restoration
involves two or more implants. The implants are then connected with a bar that
provides retention for a denture that fits over the bar. The primary purpose of
the bar is retention.
Fixed Detachable Prosthesis: One of the first restorations ever created
using dental implants was a denture type prosthesis that was screwed to four or
more implants. Today this is still the restoration of choice for a fully
edentulous lower jaw.

Crowns and Bridges: Implants can be used to attach both individual crowns
as well as bridges to a fully or partially edentulous jaw. Basically, the
implants act to replace the natural tooth which would have been used to retain
the crown or bridge. In the picture below the patient had most of his upper jaw
replaced with implant based restorations .

This patient needed implants throughout her mouth in order to allow us the
opportunity to provide her with a cemented bridge that encompasses her entire
upper jaw. Implants provided the support for an extremely esthetic and
functional restoration.

Implant dentistry can truly make a difference in your life. Just
take our friend John M. for example. You can follow John through his
treatment process and get a feeling for what John has accomplished. I think the
smile on his face at the completion of treatment says it all.

The following patient probably has more implants per inch than
anyone in the U.S. but is thrilled to be wearing a cemented in bridge rather
than a denture. Without dental implants Mike R. would have to wear a full upper
denture, something he just hated!
