Digital
Radiography
Patients Experience 80-90% Less Radiation
Patient's no longer need to be concerned about the radiation necessary to
expose normal film used in most
typical dental offices. With the introduction of
digital computerized x-rays, film is replaced with more sensitive computerized
sensors. This results in the need for less radiation to obtain diagnostic
x-rays. It also provides the clinician with more rapid diagnostics and allows
the clinical visit to be shortened dramatically. This time savings has proven to
be quite important to most patients who would rather be anywhere else other than
the dental office.
Digital x-rays are not only more sensitive but also utilize more of the
available information and provide the dentist with exceptional clinical value.
Digital x-rays can be enhanced in numerous ways including colorization, reverse
imaging, decay enhancements etc. X-rays can be printed or even emailed to other
dental specialists or insurance companies.
We
are pleased to announce that we have recently introduced a digital panoramic
x-ray. This state of the art x-ray machine can take an image of you entire jaw
in only 9 seconds and uses extremely low doses of radiation. The panoramic x-ray
has been around for many years, only recently has the digital format become
available. This tool now allows us to use fewer x-rays in total, diagnose
conditions of the teeth and jaw more accurately and to have a better overview of
your general dental health. Like its smaller cousin, the digital panoramic image
can be manipulated to increase its diagnostic ability.

Please ask us about this amazing technology the next time you are in the
office.
